The most common types that are ductless

All ductless systems have variable speed HVAC motors and have dehumidifier settings built in, which is essential in the south. Here are common types of commercial HVAC systems that are ductless.
- Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Systems: VRF systems, invented in Japan in the 1980s, are ductless and rely on heat pumps for better temperature customization. They connect multiple indoor units to one outdoor unit through a refrigerant circuit. These systems are quiet, easy to install, and are up to 30% more efficient than ducted HVAC systems, as no energy is lost through ductwork.
- Ductless Mini-Split: Instead of one central unit distributing air through ducts, this system uses multiple smaller units (air handlers). The system has a central condensing unit and uses refrigerant supplied through conduit pipes, without using ducts. This can be used on its own, or to supplement an existing system.

Examples of our commercial HVAC client projects: we handle projects of all sizes
Pullman Yards: This was part of a new construction project, where we installed five 25-ton Daikin systems and spiral ductwork. We also installed two 25-ton Trane Precedent rooftop systems, two 10-ton Daikin systems, and added additional spiral ductwork.
One River Place Condominium Complex: We installed 15 split system heat pump units (ranging from 2 to 5 tons) and three 20-ton Trane rooftop units. Due to the rooftop’s distance from the road, we airlifted the units by helicopter, as this was more cost effective than using a tower crane for this situation.
Chipotle Restaurants: At five locations, the kitchens were overheating due to improper cooling by their HVAC system. To address this, we supplemented their previously installed HVAC system with ductless mini-splits to ensure appropriate cooling in the kitchen area. We utilized various brands for this project, including LG, Daikin, and Gree.
Seventh Day Adventist Church: We installed a 20-ton Trane split heat pump system to replace their previous one, which had a blown compressor and exploded refrigerant lines.
Atlanta Dream Center: We installed three 5-ton units in this residential space converted for commercial purposes, as residential units better suited the space. We also relocated three inadequately ducted indoor systems and installed commercial spiral ductwork.

How much is a maintenance contract?
We offer annual maintenance contracts for commercial HVAC units. These contracts include two visits a year, tune-ups, drain clearances, and air filter changes. Our commercial contracts vary based on the number of HVAC units, and the location of the units (rooftop vs indoors). We offer discounts on multiple systems. Additionally, this contract includes a 10% discount on parts and service calls.
How long will it take to replace my air conditioning and/or heating system?
That depends on the location of the unit(s) and ease of access to them. Small units are replaced in less than a day, and typically within 4 – 6 hours. Larger rooftop units may require a crane, which can take more time.
