What are the most common plumbing problems?
Homes and businesses often face a variety of plumbing issues that warrant the attention of a professional plumber. Here are the most common ones we’ve addressed:
- Leaky Faucets and Running Toilets: Despite being frequently ignored, leaking faucets can spike your water bill due to the constant dripping. Similarly, a toilet that keeps running without being flushed can waste up to 200 gallons of water daily, adding to both your water and sewer bills.
- Clogged Drains: An accumulation of hair, soap, and debris can obstruct pipes, leading to water backup and potential flooding. If not addressed, it may even cause damage to your pipes.
- Water Heater Issues: If you consistently find yourself without enough hot water for showers or dishwashing, or dealing with fluctuating water temperatures, it may indicate a problem with your water heater. Other signs include unusual noises from the heater or visible leaks.
- Low Water Pressure: This can result from a simple issue with a faucet aerator or might be due to more complex problems like hidden water leaks within your walls.
- Discolored or Strange-Tasting Water: Pipes can rust over time, leading to corrosion and subsequent cracks and holes. Older pipes were often made out of galvanized steel or lead. Discolored or odd-tasting water should be addressed immediately to prevent further pipe damage, wall damage, and potential health risks.
We offer a variety of plumbing services
- Water leak repairs: Water leaks can inflict significant damage to your home or business, leading to harmful mold growth or excessive water consumption. It’s crucial to address any pipe leaks promptly to prevent these issues.
- Unclogging drains: Whether it involves using our plumbing snake to unclog your kitchen drain, locating a blockage deeper in your plumbing system, or dealing with a sewer clog, our team has the expertise and advanced technology to efficiently rectify the issue.
- Water heater replacement: With years of experience and thorough understanding of water heating technology, our team can install various water heaters, including tankless, gas, electric, and hybrid models.
- Re-piping old pipes: Re-piping old pipes, particularly replacing old or damaged pipes with new copper pipes, can restore the functionality of your plumbing system. Many older pipes were constructed with galvanized steel or lead, which may need replacement.
Signs your pipes may need to be replaced
Signals indicating the need for copper repiping:
- Ongoing plumbing issues: If you find yourself repeatedly calling a plumber to mend leaks, clogs, or other problems, this could be an indicator that your plumbing system is deteriorating. In this case, repiping could be a more lasting solution than constant repairs.
- Outdated pipes: Houses with plumbing systems over 50 years old are likely to require repiping. Some older pipes were made from galvanized steel and even lead. These pipes can corrode, leading to diminished water quality and potential health hazards such as lead in your water.
- Poor water pressure: Corrosion and sediment accumulation can impede water flow and result in low water pressure. If the standard fixes like cleaning aerators or checking for leaks don’t resolve the issue, the problem might extend further into your pipes.
- Rust-colored water: If you see brown or yellow water flowing from your faucets, it often indicates rust and decay inside old pipes.
Benefits of replacing your old pipes with copper pipes
Upgrading your home or business’s pipes with copper pipes can offer many advantages. Here are some prime benefits:
- Improved water quality: Copper is naturally rust and corrosion-resistant, which ensures no harmful contaminants leach into your water supply. Copper repiping removes the risks from lead, rust, and other pollutants presented in older piping materials, resulting in cleaner, healthier water for your home.
- Boosted water pressure: Over the years, older pipes can get clogged with sediment, causing a decrease in water pressure. Copper repiping restores this pressure to optimal levels, providing strong water pressure at every faucet and fixture.
- Durability and longevity: Copper pipes are renowned for their durability and can last beyond 50 years. Resistant to corrosion and capable of withstanding high water pressure, copper pipes outlast other pipe materials, proving to be a longstanding solution.
- Enhanced efficiency: Copper’s excellent thermal conductivity means quicker hot water and a longer warm period. This leads to less heat loss and promotes more efficient operation of your water heater.
- Reduced maintenance: Copper repiping decreases the occurrences of leaks and needed repairs, freeing you from constant plumbing maintenance. Its reliability promises a trouble-free plumbing system for years to come.

FAQs
Residential HVAC Repairs around metro Atlanta area
How much does a service call cost?
A service call for plumbing issues costs $89 + any repairs needed.
How do I turn off the water to my house?
First locate your house’s shut off valve. If your house has a basement or a crawl space, look for a pipe inside your basement or crawl space, near the front of the house. If your house was built on a slab, the valve might be located near the hot water heater inside your garage. Turn off the valve by turning the handle clockwise. You can usually turn the handle by hand.
If in the event you cannot find this valve, or if the valve has degraded and no longer fully shuts off the water to the house, look for the outdoor valve.
The outdoor valve is usually located at the end of your property line, or street. It should be in a covered box. Normally the box is a cement box underground. The cover of the box could be metal or plastic. Open the cover, inside you’ll see a ball valve. If you see a lot of dirt and debris, clear out enough to find the ball valve.
Turn the handle to the ball valve 1/4 turn to make the handle perpendicular to the water pipe. If the ball valve handle is parallel to the water pipe, the water is ON; if the valve handle is perpendicular to the water pipe (90° angle), the water is OFF.
How long would it take to repipe my house?
For most houses, this takes 1 – 2 days, depending on the size of the house.
How long would it take to replace water lines?
Water lines can usually be replaced the same day.
How long would it take to replace my water heater?
Water heaters can usually be replaced the same day.
